LAST ROW PARTY:
The Indianapolis Press Club will stage the 30th annual Last Row Party at 6 p.m. (EST) May 23 at the Brickyard Crossing and Resort Pavilion on the grounds of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
The Last Row Party honors the drivers who will start the Indianapolis 500, the 31st, 32nd and 33rd positions.
Last year’s honorees were Billy Boat, Felipe Giaffone and Cory Witherill., the past 30 years, drivers Mario Andretti, Gary Bettenhausen, Gordon Johncock, Johnny Rutherford, Tom Sneva and Al Unser have all taken part, the Last Row Party. Drivers are awarded a jacket and checks for 31 cents, 32 cents and 33 cents depending on their starting position.

MBNA Pole Qualifying will be broadcast live from noon-1 p.m. and 5-7 p.m. (EDT) May 11 on ESPN and from 1-3 p.m. on ABC. Second-day qualifying will be broadcast live from 1-4 p.m. May 12 on ESPN and from 5:30-7 p.m. on ESPN2. Fireworks will begin at approximately 9:45p on Wednesday, July 3, Thursday, July 4, Friday, July 5, and Saturday, July 6. The July 4 display is a spectacular extravaganza computerized to match the playing of patriotic music broadcast on loud speakers throughout the festival grounds. Special thanks to the Village of Lisle for their sponsorship of this year's fireworks. The fireworks are also partially sponsored by Melrose Pyrotechnics. All fireworks displays are subject to weather conditions and may be cancelled without notice.
Admission is $8 with children 12 and under admitted free. Advance daily admission tickets and special discounted passes for four adults at only $20 are available at www.tickets.com. These passes can be used on one day or broken up for use on different days.
The balloon launches will take place, weather permitting, at approximately 5:30 a.m. and 6:30p on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Following the launch each evening, there will be a balloon glow if possible. Volunteers are needed each day to help launch the balloons. If you are interested in helping, click on the Volunteers Page or look for an Eyes to the Skies representative on site.
