The Bartlett Lions Club Independence Day Parade will step off at 1 p.m.
from Oak and North Avenues, then the parade will turn south on Main Street
and proceed down to Stearns Road and then turn west as far as the entrance
to the 4th of July Festival grounds. The Lions are asking for the public’s
cooperation to not use water spraying devices – this is very damaging to
participants’ equipment, uniforms, and can pose a danger to those hit directly
by a high pressure spray. This year the parade theme is “2001, A Space Odyssey”
and will feature 70+ entries including bands and musical entertainment, fire trucks,
police cars, public works trucks, local and state elected officials, walkers, dancers,
and other forms of transportation. This year the Bartlett Lions are excited to have
as the Parade Grand Marshall, Sandra Magnus Ph.D., as NASA Astronaut.
