During the program, Diamond will take song requests via a special 800 telephone number. Fans logging on to www.livebyrequest.com will be able to join the official live concert Webcast, email song requests, post messages and have access to on-demand text, including discographies, biographical information and lyrics to songs.

The show is hosted by Mark McEwen, of CBS' The Early Show. In addition to its television broadcast on A&E Network, which reaches 81 million viewers in North America, A&E's Live By Request will also be simulcast over the Jones Radio Network.

Neil Diamond has had a profound influence on popular culture for four decades. He began as a songwriter on New York's Tin Pan Alley, where he penned such songs as "I'm A Believer," which was a No.1 hit for The Monkeys. His breakthrough hit songs and albums established him as one of the world's preeminent singer-songwriters. Throughout the '70s, '80s and '90s, Diamond's sold-out shows across the United States -- and in virtually every corner of the globe -- firmly established him as one of the best loved troubadours in the world. All-time Neil Diamond classics include "You Don't Bring Me Flowers," "Song Sung Blue," "Love On The Rocks," "I Am, I Said," "Heartlight," "Sweet Caroline," "Hello Again," "Kentucky Woman," "Forever In Blue Jeans," and "September Morn."

The debut of his most recent Columbia Records release, Three Chord Opera (in stores Tuesday, July 24th), marks the re-emergence of one of the most powerful artists in popular music, and carries the Neil Diamond legend into the new century.
