WDCB is a non-commercial, public radio station broadcasting continuously to northeastern Illinois. The station
is known for its diverse music programming: jazz, folk, reggae, world, classical and "Midwest Ballroom."
Now in its eighth year, "Midwest Ballroom" is hosted by John Russell Ghrist. It is heard Saturdays at
5 p.m. over 90.9 FM WDCB in digital HD and features Chicago area big bands and musicians. The station is owned
by the College of DuPage, Glen Ellyn, IL and can be heard throughout Chicago and the suburbs, as well as on the

and suburban area for over 23 years. With talented vocalist Julie Caselli, they cover the full spectrum of big

7/11/11 Chico Smorgallees Jazz Ensemble - The Chico Smorgallees Jazz Ensemble, directed by Doug Klang, is an 18-piece
community big band dedicated to the tradition of Big Band jazz . They perform a wide variety of music including
standards of the ‘30’s and ‘40’s as well as new songs and arrangements. Rain Date: July 14
7/18/11 Jay Witcher Orchestra- The Jay Witcher Orchestra, featuring Vocalist Liz Goss, brings the Big Band sounds
of yesteryear to life with classics from Tommy Dorsey, Glen Miller, Duke Ellington, Count Basie and others. Rain

7/25/11 Yorkville Big Band - The Yorkville Big Band, directed by Rick Falato, will perform big band songs of the
forties and fifties, with an up-to-date style. Vocalists: Carolyn Geraci and Dean Potter. Rain Date: July 28
8/1/11 Licorice Sticks Clarinet Orchestra - Under the direction of Rick Kissinger, the all clarinet member ensemble
performs music ranging from jazz, classical, Dixieland, show tunes and pop while bringing a comedic interaction
with the audience.
8/8/11 Steve Cooper Orchestra - The Steve Cooper Orchestra, featuring vocalist Mary Kalfas, will perform beloved
