This year several nominated bands will be able to showcase their original music as the top five song will be performed during the awards show. Nitelife will also feature Movie clips and video of several of the nominees.
Well the party is really a good time. With an hour of FREE food and drink it is well worth the price the of admission. But the main reason to go is to network with the industry people in attendance. Bands in particular should go to meet clubs owners, managers and other bands. There will be a table set up for bands to have their promo material available. Jim bangs out energetic rhythms on his banjo while everyone sings claps, jumps, dances and even sneezes along. 7/14 11:30a Fox and Branch, Dave Fox and Will Branch play a timeless kind of music. Their crowd-pleasing mix of old blues, jug band songs, fiddle tunes, New Orleans-flavored numbers and Cajun tunes makes people stop and smile. The duo has played to appreciative audiences at clubs, festivals, schools and libraries all over the Midwest, as well as on the east coast. Their music has been played on folk radio across the United States and Canada. 7/21 11:30a Jeanie B In her experience, kids love rock 'n' roll. They love to dance and laugh. She wanted to provide her kids with music that they could all enjoy together. She then put her adult music career on hold to focus on providing songs for her children. When her youngest son (at age 3) started a bedtime game where he would give her a topic and then ask her to sing a song about it, the songs just started pouring out of her. And from her folk/rock roots, Jeanie B! and The Jelly Beanswere born. The Sounds of Summer returns with an all-new lineup of music and variety entertainment and some old favorites for the entire family. On the positive side of 2003 was the formation of a great new band: "Instant Karma - A Tribute to the Musical Genius of John Lennon".
In Instant Karma, we've really put together some great guys who love John Lennon and The Beatles just as much as I do, and so far we've been having a great time!
Instant Karma is: Jay Goeppner, lead vocals. Bob Blider, former "American English" star, on guitar and vocals. Jimmy Dunn, from "Twist and Shout" on drums. Bob Dobro, from "Twist and Shout" on keyboards

“Pack the Park” Niles Park District will be offering free family concerts at Oak Park on Friday evenings in August. Children’s entertainment begins at 6:30 p.m. with main stage performance at 7:30 p.m. Food will be available for a nominal fee at all concerts. Pack up the lawn chairs or blankets and bring the whole family out to enjoy the summer sounds in the park. Please note alcoholic beverages are not allowed on park grounds.
